By 2040, the Indo-Pacific will represent 50% of global GDP. Energy transition is a key consideration for this high-growth economic region to support rapidly growing electrification needs and to meet net-zero goals.
Canada offers world-leading energy solutions, resources, and technology. This high-impact, inaugural Summit will profile Canada’s role as the go-to partner to meet the region’s unique energy security and sustainability needs. This will also serve as a landmark initiative to establish the Canada-ASEAN energy transition partnership, which will generate value for the Canadian economy and create long-term commercial opportunities for its energy sector.
This Summit will provide a sought-after platform for exchanging insights, forging partnerships, and exploring bilateral investment opportunities. By convening senior stakeholders and decision-makers, sharing best practices, and exploring the immense investment potential Canada poses, this event will result in mutually beneficial economic outcomes and an acceleration of the energy transition on both sides.
Objectives:
- Establish Canada as a global leader and key partner to ASEAN in meeting the region’s unique energy security needs.
- Showcase Canada’s clean and renewable energy expertise, solutions, resources and R&D in nuclear energy, LNG, hydrogen/ammonia, CCUS, and more.
- Foster outcome-oriented dialogue between Canadian and Southeast Asian policymakers and businesses on how to form partnerships to advance the energy transition in the region.
- Raise awareness among multinational corporations and energy companies on the opportunities that Canada presents for energy investment.

SingaporeLe Conseil consultatif des chefs d’entreprise sur l’Asie (ABLAC) est un groupe de hauts responsables d’entreprises asiatiques et canadiens convoqué chaque année par la Fondation Asie Pacifique du Canada afin de répertorier et d’articuler les possibilités d’amélioration des liens d’affaires entre le Canada et l’Asie.
Les membres du Conseil sont représentés dans tout le Canada et dans plus de 10 économies de l’Asie-Pacifique, et les réunions annuelles ont lieu dans des villes du Canada et d’Asie. Créé en 2016, l’ABLAC est devenu un forum exceptionnel pour catalyser le dialogue et l’action.

Des séances plénières axées sur des sujets mondiaux tels que la géopolitique et l’infrastructure durable.

Join the Critical Malaya Studies Initiative (York University) and the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada as we bring together scholars and policy experts from Singapore to explore exciting opportunities for collaboration on climate change and sustainability advocacy in the region.
This discussion will dive into the pressing implications of climate change in Singapore such as the challenges of green transitions and heightened vulnerabilities for communities.
Participants will engage in critical conversation with the panellists to understand what it means to build a sustainable future for Singapore and regionally, particularly focusing on transnational advocacy and alternative ways for knowledge mobilization.
The discussion will also explore how domestic and international actors can support and learn from climate initiatives from Southeast Asia.

TaipeiThis international seminar is organized by the Taiwan WTO & RTA Center, Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research, and supported by Taiwan’s Office of Trade Negotiations (Executive Yaun), International Trade Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Featuring presentations by representatives from CPTPP members Canada (including APF Canada President & CEO Jeff Nankivell), Japan, Australia, Peru, Mexico, it will bring together domestic and international industry, government, academia, and research sectors to explore the benefits of the CPTPP for the economic development and supply chain resilience of various economies in the context of changing geopolitical dynamics, as well as the significance of continued membership expansion.
The aim of this seminar in Taipei is to demonstrate Taiwan's proactive spirit of "Taiwan can contribute. Taiwan is ready," foster national consensus, and expand international support for its applications to accede to the trade bloc.
The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) is currently one of the most advanced and liberalized trade agreements. With 12 member economies accounting for approximately 15% of global GDP and 5.9% of the world's population, the CPTPP plays a significant role in promoting global and Asia Pacific regional economic integration.
APF Canada’s President & CEO Jeff Nankivell will participate in a panel (In response to international geopolitics, the significance of the CPTPP to the development and resilience of various countries around the world) and a roundtable discussion (Challenges and prospects of Taiwan's application to join the CPTPP & recommendations for Taiwan).
