Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada Welcomes Eoin Ó hÓgáin and Maili Wong to Board of Directors

VANCOUVER, BC – November 4, 2021 – The Board of Directors of the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada (APF Canada) is pleased to welcome two new Board-appointed members, Eoin Ó hÓgáin and Maili Wong.

Eoin Ó hÓgáin is a founding Partner of Power Sustainable, a global investment management firm focused on sustainable infrastructure, sustainable equities, and natural assets with offices in Canada, China, and the United States. He leads Power Sustainable’s strategic initiatives and chairs its Sustainability Committee. Mr. Ó hÓgáin is also a member of the strategy team at Power Corporation and has served as CEO of Power Pacific Investment since its inception in 2018.

Earlier, Mr. Ó hÓgáin spent more than a decade in the energy and investment sectors, working for companies such as Morgan Stanley, McKinsey & Company, and State Street, during which he lived and worked in the United States, Asia, and Europe. A native of Kilkenny, Ireland, Mr. Ó hÓgáin also serves on the boards of the Ireland-Canada Chamber of Commerce and the Canadian Irish Studies Foundation.

Maili Wong, named one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 by Women’s Executive Network, is a best-selling author, a leading Canadian investment advisor, and licensed portfolio manager. Ms. Wong recently shared her personal story of resilience and lessons learned during her nearly two decades of international investing experience in her book, Smart Risk: Invest Like the Wealthy to Achieve a Work-Optional Life. Ms. Wong’s wealth management successes garnered her a position on Business in Vancouver’s ‘Top Forty Under 40’ list and the recognition as one of B.C.’s Most Influential Women by BC Business magazine.

Based in Vancouver, Canada, Ms. Wong currently serves on the Board of the University of British Columbia’s Portfolio Management Foundation and co-Chairs the annual ‘Up the Down Market’ gala raising funds for UBC’s Down Syndrome Research Foundation. Ms. Wong also created and funded the ‘Maili Wong Scholarship in Finance,’ a bursary and mentorship awarded annually by UBC to a female undergraduate student in Finance.
