APF Canada’s Education programming builds Canadians’ Asia awareness and Asia competencies, with a particular focus on younger Canadians. This work includes curriculum support at the secondary school level through our Asia Pacific Curriculum project and engagement with educators and subject matter experts to support the teaching of Asian Canadian history.
We also prioritize early-career professionals who, through their current or future work in government, academia, business, and the non-profit sector, will play a vital role in providing the next generation of thought leadership on Canada-Asia relations. We do this through our (non-resident) Canada-Asia Young Professionals Fellowship program and our (in-residence) Junior Research Scholar and Research Scholar programs.
APF Canada also partners with other organizations to give Canadian youth the opportunity to experience Asia first-hand, such as through our Kakehashi bilateral exchange project with Japan and our India Connect internship program in partnership with Simon Fraser University.
